Borodavchenko Katerina The direction in which I work can be described as contemporary realism. I'm interested in using the traditions and techniques of realist painting in a modern context. Rethinking the whole history of painting and its embodiment in modern forms from the point of view of a person living in the 21st century. A kind of symbiosis of tradition and new trends. It is not an easy goal for an artist, to make a work that does not look like a traditional textbook production, but also not to be carried away by the momentary (fashionable) and therefore invariably passing with time. I am inspired by classical art, it is timeless, and I strive for the same.

Katerina was born in 1978 in Karaganda, Kazakhstan. Studied at Karaganda State University at the Professional Art Department. In 2007 graduated from the Repin St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (SPbSAIJSA). Since 1999 lives and works in St. Petersburg. Member TSHR (Creative Union of Artists of Russia). Her works are in private collections in Russia, USA, Europe and Asia.
As well as in the collections of the Art Museum Dafen (Shenzhen, China), Aslan Chekhoyev's New Museum (St. Petersburg).
