Kryzhanovskaya Inna

Creative pseudonym Grigel's Mood.

Born and living in Moscow. А photographer and videographer by profession. She graduated from Izvestia School of Photography, the Photoplay photography school and Pavel Smirnov's courses at VGIK. The pseudonym Grigel's has been around since she was a child, the artist herself doesn't remember how it came about. At some point it simply became part of the artist, her middle name.
She came across clay as a material by mere chance - with the help of a friend she went to the studio of the Kupriyanovs, one of the hereditary ceramists. Here she created her first work, a white plate with the inscription "What are you looking at? After that, the artist came to the studio every week, until she realised that ceramics became an integral part of her life.
Working with clay is now a way of stopping and stepping back into oneself. It is like meditation. Inna does not like to be constrained by a certain style: at first it was minimalism, now it is bright primitivism. Everything depends on the mood, feelings, circumstances, the artist's work changes depending on what is going on around her, and therefore, inside. This freedom is clearly evident in her works.
The artist makes no demands on her viewers. Her works always contain a particle of Inna herself which she wants to share, but it is important for everyone to be able to find their own meaning in her work.
Inna draws inspiration from everything: nature, films, music, childhood memories, the present moment, dreams. She is fascinated by David Lynch, Gaspar No?'s film Ecstasy, Jean-Michel Basquiat and many contemporary artists such as Ryan McGinness, Os Gemeos, Kaws, Taehoon Kim, Liliana Demeester, Johnson Tsang, Joakim Ojanen and others.
In addition to ceramics, the artist paints, sketches, takes photographs, shoots videos, embroidery.
