Markova Victoria

Victoria Markova — artist, curator, and founder of the online gallery ART BLAGO. She completed her Master’s degree at Saint Petersburg State University in Axiology of Russian Culture (2023), a continuing education program at the Tretyakov Gallery (2024), and graduated from the Masters School (2025).

"As an artist, I work in painting techniques, sew and create tapestries/rugs, and work with textiles and spatial objects/installations. I actively participate in exhibition projects, travel, and study the sacred mythology of different regions. In my art and in the process of creation, I explore and reinterpret the identity of the Arkhangelsk northern land. Arkhangelsk and Pomorye are my native places, which is why my works are filled with a diversity of sacred symbols, unreal spaces, and images of the sea, islands, and churches. My art is dedicated to the ongoing search for and discovery of the metaphysics of the North and of my own dreams. The themes in my works include: songs my grandmother sang in childhood / told stories / book illustrations / liminality / otherworldliness / human romantic relationships in their raw mythical form."
