A graduate of the Stieglitz Art and
Industry Academy of Saint Petersburg (2010), Ksenia fell in love with art as a
child. Inspired by the illustrations of Albrecht Dürer, she pursued a
concentration in book illustration and has since illustrated several works,
including Boris Vian’s “Froth on the Daydream” and Vitali Aksenov’s “Fluffy
Technology”. Her body of work has come to include paintings, video art and
Ksenia’s interest in the merger between
traditional and contemporary art pushed her to pursue an additional degree at
the Pro Arte Foundation, a St. Petersburg-based organization that promotes
contemporary arts and culture. There, Ksenia developed an interest in the
individual as an emotional unit. Her works are inspired by a search for the
beautiful but also, for the reverse side of beauty.
A participant in numerous exhibitions in
Moscow and St. Petersburg, including the Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art,
in 2012 Ksenia was nominated for the Kandinsky Award for Young Artists.
When she is not painting, Ksenia works as
an art director in television, theater and cinema and continues to
professionally illustrate books.
